Lost in Sim Valley

Umm yeah so I have a blog? I totally forgot. This is mostly due to my recent purchase of The Sims 3. Last Friday I was bumming around Target and was lured to the dark side by the pretty packaging. So I called Adam and asked him if I could use one of the gift cards from our wedding to buy it. (I would have bought it even if he didn't want me to, but I want him to THINK our marriage is an equal partnership). But luckily he agreed, so I bought it and squeed all the way home. I have been a huge fan of the Sims since the prehistoric days of Sims 1. I played Sims 2 obsessively in college, creating a virtual household containing all my dorm girls. I accidentally killed off my former roommate by building a pool with a diving board but forgetting to place a ladder. But in real life she had a threesome in my BED, so I didn't feel that guilty. I then made my friend Jenny have twins with a much older man and named them Orange & Pear (just what I imagined Gwenyth Paltrow would have named her two other kids had she had triplets).

I have spent hours upon hours playing the Sims 3 this past week. This has lead to several weird conversations with Adam in public that make me sound like an upcoming guest on the Jerry Springer Show or a total space case. "Right now I'm living with my husband and his two pregnant girlfriends. They don't know we are all involved with the same man.""I just declared my mother a nemesis, and got in a bitch slap fight with her." "The ghosts of my parents are playing Foosball in the living room." I'm also determined to finally finish a legacy challenge, which is where you play ten generations of the same family. This takes a long time, so its quite possible you may never hear from me again.

On a random note, right now I am watching the Coneheads! It's kind of embarrassing but I have to admit to you guys that the movie Coneheads has power over me. Anytime it is on TV, I have no choice but to watch it from start to finish. It's not even that good of a movie, but I loved it as a child so its more like a nostalgia thing. Although the scene where Baldozar eats the roll of toilet paper and the one where his wife's water breaks gives me the creeps. I can't believe how many big name celebrities were in this movie: Dan Ackroyd, David Spade, and Drew Carey.

But now its back to Simming.
365 days ago (give or take):
In college I had a lovely mattress made of plastic. I don’t know what it is about us college kids that make people think we have problems with bed-wetting, but obviously the beds were made to be potty proof.
Adam and I got mattress hopping. My bed is the best bed in the world.

  1. Coneheads is a hilarious movie!

  2. I love the Sims, and am the same way. Once I am playing, I only surface for the important things like peeing, eating, and making sure the kids are all accounted for!

  3. Hahah, I used to make the Sims "play" in the hot tub with each other. DIRTY! Have fun, but don't neglect your fans!

  4. I used to totally on PURPOSE build pools without ladders to KILL OFF annoying Sim people. I may actually have to totally break out the Sims this weekend *snickers* Oh, and umm.. I had a threesome in my roomates bed. Oops. Wait. Were we roomates? *smirks*

Okays, off to bed for me.

ps: check your email in a bit. Blog password will be there :)

I love comments, and I always read my comments. But sometimes I make a mental note to go comment back on your blog, and then forget to (Even if I’m an avid read of your blog, whoops). Since I'm so bad about this, I will mostly reply to comments in my comment section, so please check back! If you have something pressing to talk to me about you can e-mail me at
