Everyday Neurosis

Both of these photos are authentic and were taken in New York City during the construction of the Rockefeller Center in 1932. These are wonderful shots, and if I were the photographer who got to capture it, I would wet myself. I can appreciate their beauty, but am I the only one that these pictures freak out? I mean one wrong move and splat! I see these shots, and I get nervous and have to LOOK AWAY. Maybe this is just another one of my neurosis, just like my dislike of napkins and how I hate the word appetite.*Shivers* But I've always wonder if I was alone in this.

So how do these photos make you feel?

  2. My brother has one of those hanging in his house. I always thought it was something they added a background to later.

When my niece first saw that photo she just stood looking at it awhile, quiet. Then she turned to her Grandmother (Grandma is her favourite person) and said, "Grandma, if you drop your ball, don't pick it up." Then she went off to do something else.

  3. @Tamicks-Agreed.
@Laura-That is hilarious, kids are great like that. I wondered that too, but they said they photographer took it like a 36 story window.

  4. I have lived in New York for the past 10 years and have greater appreciation for those pictures. People have always come to NY, including me,to achieve something usually at a high risk.

I love comments, and I always read my comments. But sometimes I make a mental note to go comment back on your blog, and then forget to (Even if I’m an avid read of your blog, whoops). Since I'm so bad about this, I will mostly reply to comments in my comment section, so please check back! If you have something pressing to talk to me about you can e-mail me at brittanyervin86@yahoo.com.
